Productivity Belongs to All

What is a lie but a calculated deception? Stating a thing as truth in order to deceive, evade or mislead. A lie is a malfeasance, a weapon of words chosen to harm others and advantage to liar. A believed lie robs the believer, the deceived, of their freedom. A believed lie disadvantages the beleiver. Yet I have heard people say that it is their right of free speech to be able to not speak all the facts, a lie of ommission. Others, sometimes caught out in "broken political promises," say it is their right to chase the votes won with "simplified arguments." The intent was to mislead? It's a lie! Nothing else. People can't handle the truth? The lie to justify lying. The lie told for personal advantage. An advantage gained at the expense of the advantage to the greater good. Stealing a vote with a half truth is stealing the rights of those without the power sought. Official secrets are lies. Trade secrets are lies. Withholding facts for any sort of gain for on

Woodend to Macedon - Diary of An eBike Convert May 12, 2024, 9:31 am distance: 14.8km, 48 minutes elevation gain: 193m at 6.6% average gradient descent: 256m @ -10.5% average gradient It was supposed to be a ride from Woodend to Sunbury but, by the time I climbed out of the literally 50mm deep hole Mrs Google dug for me (around 4.5km from "Woody") while she was tripping balls in Macedon's satellite shadow, I just wanted to get back home and bailed for the train. Made up the lost distance riding from Southern Cross Station to home. The route was supposed to take me down past Macedon Reservoir, but was impassable. Middle Gully Rd was the problem, in the satellite shadow, the call to "turn right to stay on Middle Gully Rd" should have been turn left. I wound up at a bricks and mortar, 2m deep, 3m wide drainage culvert. This was NEVER Middle Gully Rd. And forwards was impossible without a bridge. The ride down was at the limit of my technical ability, up was

First attempt at extending my range a little. Surprisingly, it wasn’t supposed to be an extension. I’d put in a turn by turn route plan because I’m not as familiar with Melbourne’s northern suburbs as I am with the south, east and bayside that I thought was 32km and somehow that magically became 40km. I’m feeling it, I’m definitely having at least 2 rest days before I go for another, flatter spin, but wow! Before my heart attack, I’d have laughed at 40km as nothing more than a rest day. 3 and a half years later, it has been the best I have been able to do since discharge from rehab! The electrics were on 2 out of 5 today because it was 300m elevation gain. Not a lot by pre heart attack standards, but again, the most I’ve done in a sitting since late 2021. And I still feel like I deserve a pat on the back! I feel like my workrate was not overly enhanced by a 40% pedal assist. I had only 2 really short hills that needed the full 40Nm, and maybe a total of a km at 3, just to keep he
